Verizon Wireless (NYSE:VZ, NYSE:VOD) likes to avoid any confusion over which of its phones are for men and which are for women, so it lays it out for consumers in its commercials. First, it showed us why Motorola (NYSE:MOT) Droid belongs in the hands of macho men (unlike the iPhone, made for “clueless beauty pageant queen”). Now it wants you to know that Palm’s (NASDAQ:PALM) new Pre Plus is perfect for the modern woman.
In its latest commercials, VZW shows why the Pre Plus is “the first 3G smartphone smart enough to keep up with mom.” The message is pretty targeted, showing both an out-of-date homemaker and the applications needed for the modern woman (see for yourself below). Both the Droid and Palm Pre Plus are highly capable smartphones, equipped with multitasking, touchscreens, universal search and updated operating systems. And, as far as I can tell, they are both gender neutral too.
Verizon also announced yesterday it would add another Android-based device, the Motorola Devour, to its lineup. The device is based on MotoBlur, Moto’s social networking-inspired service. We will see who VZW targets (or alienates) with this device… perhaps it will be appropriate for both males and females, but – given the social aspects – only those under age 18?

The ads forgot to mention the compact mirror on the back of the Pre. Everyone knows that Blonds have a weakness for Mirrors and Make-up.
Most all of the States are now making it Illegal, for Women to talk, text, and drive. So at least with the Pre Plus, Pretty Blondes that have to keep Quiet, , , can still put on thier make-up, while driving.
