The IPoDWDM solution eliminates redundant transponders in the POP, which results in an overall reduction in the number of “boxes” required and enables simplified network architectures. However, as with all other IPoDWDM solutions, the NSN/Juniper solution does require more than one box (in this case the T Series and the Multireach DWDM platform hiT7300). We are not trying to integrate all WDM functionality into the router - only long-haul interfaces (all IPoDWDM solutions work this way), as this is what our customers are looking for. So while not entirely inaccurate to say this is a multi-box solution, we feel it is a little misleading because the solution allows much simpler network designs than other approaches.</description>
