U-Verse hits Little Rock

…according to a flyer affixed to my doorknob today in the heart of the city. “U-Verse is now available in your neighborhood,” it says, throwing the gauntlet down to cable incumbent Comcast.

And right on schedule, it appears. A technician had told me back in early May that the company was targeting Sept. 2 for the Little Rock launch.

Which neighborhood? There has been one of their nodes sitting directly across the street from my apartment complex for at least 1.5 years yet it’s not yet available. Maybe they’re rolling it out slowly to avoid extremely distant installs? I’m looking forward to trying it.

It’s being advertised in Hillcrest. I suspect if it’s there, it would be in the Heights as well — at least.

  3. Penfield Real Estate has a brand new subdivision that they are marketing. It is called Lochridge Estates. They have all of the fiber optics installed and ready for new houses to be built. The AT&T technician who has been doing the install said it is ready to hook up. This has been a long time coming but we are very excited to be one of the first to have it available. Take Colonial Glenn go past the Rave Theater 5 miles turn left on Marsh. Subdivision is on the left.
