Infotech Signs a New Multi-Year Engineering Services Agreement with a Tier 1 Telco

Paragould, AR, November 2011 - Infotech Enterprises America, Inc. has entered into a new multi-year engineering services agreement with a Tier 1 Telecommunications service provider in North America. The agreement includes OSP planning, survey, engineering, and drafting for multiple disciplines including BAU, FTTP, MDU, DS1, and high bandwidth circuit engineering (DS3 and above) covering each regional service area for the client. Infotech began the work on November 1, 2011 and it will continue over the next three years.

Cypriot Velister Ltd selected Net Insight for an all-IP Digital Terrestrial Televison (DTT) Network

STOCKHOLM, Sweden – Net Insight, a leading provider of efficient and scalable transport solutions for media, IP and broadcast networks, has delivered the Nimbra platform to Velister Ltd, the commercial DVB-T operator in Cyprus for a new all-IP DTT network.

Velister Ltd, a private broadcast operator in Cyprus selects Net Insight for a new all-IP Digital Terrestrial network. The network covers the whole of Cyprus and has been live since the 1st July 2011.

The DTT network carries three MUXes and consists of end-to-end provisioning, full-path protection architecture with multiple levels of redundancy from the head-end site to the individual transmitter sites. The network provides both contribution and distribution services based on the Nimbra platform, including the network management system, Nimbra Vision.

This order was won in partnership with Net Insight’s partner in Cyprus J&D Dynamic in June.

RAD Wins Best Product Award for Carrier Ethernet Demarcation at Carrier Ethernet APAC Congress

Singapore, December 2, 2011 – For the second time this year RAD Data Communications has won a Best Product Award at a Carrier Ethernet World Congress event.

How Cloud Traffic will Grow 12-Fold by 2015

In the inaugural Global Cloud Index (2010 – 2015), Cisco estimates global cloud computing traffic will grow 12-fold from 130 exabytes to reach a total of 1.6 zettabytes annually by 2015 — that’s a 66 percent compound annual growth rate (CAGR).

One zettabyte is equal to a sextillion bytes or a trillion gigabytes — 1.6 zettabytes is approximately equivalent to:

RAD Names New Chief Technology Officer

MAHWAH, New Jersey, November 29, 2011 – Dr. Yaakov (Jonathan) Stein has been named Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at RAD Data Communications.

Dr. Stein has served as RAD’s Chief Scientist since coming to the company in 1999. In his new role as CTO, his responsibilities will include analysis of relevant technology trends, steering RAD’s participation in standardization forums, supervising IPR issues, research cooperation with academia, and special research projects.

Dr. Stein has authored numerous academic papers, standardization contributions, and patent applications.
