Interop Technologies Names Fred Tannenbaum and Brian Rich to Board of Directors

Wireless History Foundation Opens Nominations for 2011 Wireless Hall of Fame

Industry Participants Encouraged to Nominate Outstanding Individuals

AUSTIN, TX—February 9, 2011—Today the Wireless History Foundation (WHF) announced that nominations for the 2011 Wireless Hall of Fame will be due no later than March 31. Nominations will be accepted in four categories: Service Provider, Technology, Industry Associate, and Pioneer. A candidate must be recommended by one nominator and two seconders. Nomination forms and guidelines are available on the WHF website at http://www.wirelesshistoryfoundation.org/NominationForm.html.

Last year the WHF inducted four individuals at the inaugural Wireless Hall of Fame Dinner, bringing the total number of inductees to 28. The Wireless Hall of Fame program began in 2000. Yankee Group Says U.S. E-Book Revenue Will Outstrip Mobile App Revenue by 2013

BOSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The catchphrase “There’s an app for that” may soon be replaced by “There’s an e-book for that.” In a new report, “2011 E-Book Forecast: Get Set for the Next Best-Seller,” Yankee Group predicts e-book sales will grow from $313 million in 2009 to $2.7 billion by 2013, a CAGR of 72 percent. By contrast, the much noisier mobile app market will grow from $834 million in 2009 to just $1.6 billion in 2013, a CAGR of only 62 percent in the same time frame.

The report also finds:

* E-book unit sales will skyrocket. By 2013, U.S. consumers will purchase 381 million e-books, roughly four times the amount they purchased in 2010.
* Average selling prices of e-books will plummet. By 2013, the average e-book retail price will fall to $7, down from an average of more than $9 in 2009.
