Flash Networks Announces Interoperability with the Alcatel-Lucent 5780 Dynamic Services Controller

Herzlia, Israel, July 26, 2011 – Flash Networks, a leading global provider of intelligent mobile Internet solutions, announced today that it has successfully completed interoperability testing of its Harmony Mobile Internet Services Gateway with the Alcatel-Lucent 5780 Dynamic Services Controller (DSC), a 3GPP policy charging and rules function (PCRF) platform.

This interoperability will allow Flash Networks to offer smart traffic management solutions and monetization services for mobile operators as they continue to cope with high bandwidth content over faster networks, such as 4G Long-Term Evolution (LTE) networks.

By enforcing policies from the Alcatel-Lucent 5780 DSC, Flash Networks’ Harmony Gateway enables:

• Mobile data and video optimization based on subscriber profiles, service plans, and cell congestion

Telefonica selects Telco Systems Metro Ethernet solution for Agentina’s Tecnopolis Theme Park

Mansfield, MA, July 26, 2011 –Telco Systems announced today that its Ethernet demarcation and aggregation products were chosen by Telefónica Argentina to create the telecommunications network for the Tecnópolis theme park which opened on July 15 in Villa Martelli, near Buenos Aires. The 124-acre (50 hectares) technology theme park is part of Argentina’s Tecnópolis Bicentennial Project for Science, Technology and Arts.

Telefónica was tasked by the Argentinean government to implement a technological infrastructure to support the many science, technology and art exhibitions at the park. The network supports multicast video and music, Internet access and video surveillance applications that serve the needs of the park operators and visitors.

Yoigo selects Tellabs for 3G mobile backhaul in Spain

High Wycombe, UK – Spanish mobile operator Yoigo is expanding and increasing the capacity of its 3G network. The operator aims to triple its customers and gain 10% of the Spanish market by 2015. Yoigo selected the Tellabs® 8600 Managed Edge System to support its growth and manage the anticipated increase in data traffic.

Managing the evolution to all-IP
The nationwide expansion of Yoigo’s mobile backhaul network – managed by Ericsson Spain – will consist of over 100 Radio Access Network (RAN) nodes. Ericsson will implement the Tellabs® 8630 Access Switch and Tellabs® 8660 Edge Switch network elements to aggregate 3G traffic, enabling Yoigo to evolve to an all-IP network and at the same time maintain support for legacy traffic.
