Humbug Telecom Labs Offers Community Approach to Telecom Fraud Fighting

Humbug Telecom Labs prevents and detects telecom fraudHumbug Telecom Labs provider of carrier-class fraud prevention, detection and telecom analytics for any size business, today announced the release of their Community blacklist. Telecom fraud is a very real problem that according to the Communications Fraud Control Association (CFCA) costs businesses $80 billion each year.

“Fraud happens everywhere from small law firms, accounting offices, even the Department of Homeland Security. Attacks can quickly spread to multiple PBXs on the same network,” said Yaniv Rofé, CEO of Humbug Telecom Labs. “Humbug’s fraud prevention and detection solution stops that from occurring. It’s why leading vendors are beginning to bundle in fraud protection services into existing PBXs.”

Yesterday’s telecom fraud world was a fragmented environment – with each carrier, service provider and even small business fighting alone against invading hackers, abusers, and telecom fraudsters (aka phreakers). Released more

ISCO Intl. Issues Guide Detailing Capacity-Sapping 3G Network Interference Sources

ISCO IDENTIFIES COMPLEX INTERFERENCE INTRUSIONS IN 3G WIRELESS NETWORKS –
ANALYSIS AND COUNTERACTIVE MEASURES OUTLINED IN NEW GUIDE

Spectrum Conditioning, Based on Proteus® with PurePassTM Digital Signal Processing, Improves
Speed, Utilization and Performance of Wireless Networks

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL – June 8, 2011 – ISCO International has issued a new guide that outlines a variety of interference sources that contribute to suboptimal performance in 3G networks. ISCO has found a number of infrastructure or network configuration issues that negatively impact a previously neglected link in the wireless service experience – the uplink from the subscriber to the base station tower. Interference sources range from the relatively well-known, repeaters and amplifiers, to unexpected events such as intermodulation due to transmitter cross-coupling or non-linear effects in the physical environment.

Using digital signal processing ISCO adds intelligence to the uplink, also known as the RX feed more

SFR France will Deploy the Cisco IPv6 Solution

SFR France has selected the Cisco carrier-grade CGv6 solution as a first step in the transition of their network infrastructure to IPv6.

SFR, the second largest telecommunications operator in France, has deployed the Cisco ASR 1000 Series router, enabling IPv6 access to the Internet for residential customers.

SFR required a simple, cost effective solution to transition its IPv4 network to IPv6. The Cisco ASR 1000, utilizing Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol (LT2P), enabled SFR to leverage its existing investment in IPv4 network access infrastructure to quickly provide IPv6 services to their customers.

Enabling the Cost-Effective Transition to IPv6

- Because of the exponential growth of Internet services and increasing number of end users, Service Providers are looking for new ways for their current network architecture to meet the needs of Internet-ready appliances, new applications, and services. IPv6 is designed to enable service providers to meet more

Tata Communications Launches Ethernet Services in India

Cisco announced that Tata Communications will deploy the Cisco ASR 9000 Series edge routers — powering its next-generation Ethernet network service throughout India.

Cisco predicts that the number of network-connected devices will be more than 15 billion, twice the world’s population, by 2015. In the fifth annual Cisco Visual Networking Index (VNI) Forecast (2010-2015) released last week, the company also said the total amount of global Internet traffic will quadruple by 2015 and reach 966 exabytes per year.

The projected increase of Internet traffic between 2014 and 2015 alone is 200 exabytes, which is greater than the total amount of Internet Protocol traffic generated globally in 2010.

On the verge of reaching 1 zettabyte, which is equal to a sextillion bytes, or a trillion gigabytes by 2015, global IP traffic growth is driven by four primary factors, according to Cisco: an increasing number of devices; more more
