Cortado Connector for RightFax Enables OpenText Customers To Send Faxes with Smartphones and Tablets

The partnership between OpenText and Cortado integrates mobile devices into the IT environment resulting in further BYOD options

Denver – February 22, 2012 − OpenText, a global market leader for fax solutions, and cloud desktop provider Cortado announce the release of the Cortado Connector for RightFax. The Connector, jointly developed by Cortado and the Canadian company OpenText, allows RightFax customers to send faxes directly from iPads, iPhones, Android and BlackBerry smartphones via their fax server solution.

To use the integrated solution, customers simply require a RightFax server running in conjunction with both the Cortado Connector for RightFax and the Cortado Corporate Server. This combination makes it possible to not only send mobile faxes, but also to access files with a smartphone or tablet, view database reports, or print. In the back end, the Cortado Corporate Server acts as a Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution while providing secure administration of the user profiles and policies.

“With the Connector, RightFax customers can now use their proven solution with mobile devices too. They don’t need an additional mobile fax system for it,” said Frank Hoffmann, Director Strategic Relationships at Cortado AG. “Also, companies can securely integrate smartphones and tablets into the corporate IT, implement BYOD programs, and provide their employees with a complete cloud desktop even when they’re mobile.”

“With the connector, we are expanding the application range of our fax server to mobile devices. At the same time we are meeting the demand for mobilization and BYOD programs,” said Martin van Ginkel, Strategic Alliance Manager for EMEA, at OpenText. “The Cortado solution is the perfect companion as it securely optimizes desktop features for smartphone and media tablets, which in combination with RightFax it makes the most secure solution for mobile distribution of business critical documents.”

The Cortado Connector for RightFax can be purchased from OpenText or OpenText channel partners. The Cortado Corporate Server, for an environment with five employees, costs $995 for the first 5 and $119 for each additional user. More information regarding the cooperation between OpenText and Cortado and a free, fully-functional demo version of Cortado Corporate Server can be downloaded from the manufacturer’s website www.cortado.com/rightfax.
