Net Insight ensures mission critical video traffic from Royal Wedding

Today, the 29th April 2011, the UK will come to a standstill when HRH Prince William and Miss Kate Middleton marry at Westminster Abbey in London, England.  


Thanks to its UK partner, Omnistream,  Net Insight will be providing connectivity for live pictures of the event from Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey to ensure this mission critical traffic is delivered with the best quality and best utilisation of broadcast infrastructure.

Ericsson selected to build LTE network for Rogers

• Sole supplier for LTE radio access network
• Upgrades and expands Rogers’ existing packet core network to Evolved Packet Core (EPC)
• Further expands global leadership in LTE

As part of this multi-year agreement, Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) expands its key supplier role with Rogers by delivering an end-to-end LTE network. Ericsson will deploy all 4G/LTE radio sites with its new multi-standard radio base station, RBS 6000, and upgrade and expand Rogers’ existing packet core network into an Evolved Packet Core (EPC) network, supporting the new LTE network.

Nokia starts measures to align workforce and site operations with new strategy

Espoo, Finland - To deliver on its new strategy, Nokia today announced plans to align its global workforce and consolidate site operations. These measures are part of Nokia’s target to reduce its Devices & Services non-IFRS operating expenses by 1 billion euros for the full year 2013 in comparison to the full year 2010, as announced last week.

Earlier today, Nokia announced plans to form a strategic collaboration with Accenture that would result in the transfer of Nokia’s Symbian software activites, including about 3,000 employees to Accenture. In addition, Nokia also plans to reduce its global workforce by about 4,000 employees by the end of 2012, with the majority of reductions in Denmark, Finland and the UK. In accordance with country-by-country legal requirements, discussions with employee representatives started today.

Nokia announces plans to transfer Symbian software activities to Accenture

Accenture to provide future smartphone ecosystem services to Nokia

Espoo, Finland and New York, US - Nokia (NYSE: NOK) and Accenture (NYSE: ACN) today announced plans for a strategic collaboration in which Nokia would outsource its Symbian software activities and transition about 3,000 employees to Accenture. At the same time, Accenture would provide mobility software services to Nokia for future smartphones.

The collaboration, which is subject to final agreement, calls for Accenture to provide Symbian-based software development and support services, with the expected transition of about 3,000 Nokia employees to Accenture. The companies expect completion of the final agreement during summer 2011, and expect the transition of employees by the end of the calendar year 2011. NEWS: Net Insight receives expansion order for Digital Terrestrial TV network in Lithuania

STOCKHOLM, Sweden - Net Insight, a leading developer of efficient and scalable transport solutions for media, IP and broadcast networks, has received an expansion order for the Digital Terrestrial TV (DTT) network from Lithuanian Radio and Television Centre (Telecentras).
 
Lithuanian Radio and Television Centre (Telecentras) is a nationwide Lithuanian telecommunication company owning two major radio and TV broadcasting networks for terrestrial analogue and digital broadcasting (DVB-T) as well as 4G mobile WIMAX. Telecentras selected Net Insight’s Nimbra platform for its DTT network in 2006. LightSquared and Cellular South Announce They Have Entered Into a Bilateral Roaming Agreement
