MetaSAN Compatibility with Enhance iSCSI & Fibre SAN Arrays

Enhance Technology and Tiger Technology Certify Interoperability

Santa Fe Springs, CA. January 22, 2009 – Enhance Technology, headquartered in Santa Fe Spring, California, is the pioneer in design and implementation of hybrid input/output technology in the storage subsystems. Coupled with innovative and affordable storage solutions, Enhance Technology offers unparallel support to meet with our customer’s demands and needs. Enhance Technology is a technology partner of Tiger Technology. By making sure the Enhance UltraStor RS8/RS16 IP iSCSI & FS Fibre Channel RAID subsystems compatibility with Tiger Technology’s metaSAN, cross platform file sharing Storage Area Network (SAN) management software, Enhance technology has proved again its superlative character in its data storage products.

As the increasing requirements of the connections and the speed between SAN and end-users, it’s necessary to acclimatize the metaSAN to satisfy the demand. The Tiger Technology’s metaSAN enables multiple users to share access to common data files in workgroups where heavy bandwidth requirements are the norm. With metaSAN, users can manage accesses to their shared storage the same way they normally would for any other local drive. Using metaSAN, video and film editors, digital artists, healthcare specialists, and corporate users can simultaneously access a common pool of data files such as video clips, databases, or medical archives as easily and transparently as if the content was stored on their local drive. Both the UltraStor RS8/RS16 iSCSI & Fibre Series were fully tested with metaSAN SAN Management Software and the results were impressive revealing the improved performance with SAN.

To ensure high performance, reliability, and customer confidence on our full line of storage subsystem models, Enhance Technology always takes the initiative step to help our customers avoid compatibility issues normally associated with newly released firmware revision such as the new metaSAN 3.2 which includes support for Mac OS X and Windows Server 2008.

Tiger Technology’s metaSAN turns the UltraStor products into a powerful, cross-platform, file-level sharing SAN by eliminating the risk of file-system corruption that would otherwise occur when multiple computers access the same disks. With metaSAN, multiple computers can benefit from high-speed block-level access, cross-platform support, automatic load balancing, transparent failover, and per-client bandwidth usage control. Multiple Enhance storage arrays can also be striped together to meet greater performance requirements. These innovations ensure a perfectly transparent and reliable networked shared storage that can fuel the most creative environments in addition to greatly reducing the cost of managing mission-critical resources.

With extensive research and development history, friendly and knowledgeable technical support staff, and our commitment to provide the highest quality in storage products, customers can rely on Enhance Technology to provide the most up to date, high performance and fully compatible storage device with a peace of mind. Enhance Technology is definitely the company you can trust and count on when it comes to server or SAN storage devices.

About Tiger Technology.

Tiger Technology, Sarl, is a Swiss-based software developer of high performance storage area networking (SAN) management tools. MPLS in Mobile Backhaul Certification Program Announced

MPLS in Mobile Backhaul Certification Program Announced

IP/MPLS Forum Announces Formal Certification Program for Mobile Backhaul Solutions Utilizing Circuit Emulation Services Over MPLS

FREMONT, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The IP/MPLS Forum announced today the pilot phase of its MPLS in Mobile Backhaul Certification program. The certification program is the first of its kind in the industry, and allows vendors and operators to work together to provide a globally recognized and trusted benchmark for use by backhaul providers, mobile operators and their end-users.

The program will initially focus on certifying standards-compliant implementations of Circuit Emulation services over MPLS as defined in the IP/MPLS Forum’s MPLS Mobile Backhaul Initiative (MMBI) which defines how MPLS can be used to backhaul TDM traffic for mobile operators. The certification program introduces a set of strictly-repeatable test procedures, and will be administered through the IP/MPLS Forum’s certified lab partner, Iometrix.

“Operators require readily-deployable backhaul solutions today to resolve the bandwidth challenges associated with increasing traffic demands,” said Andrew G. Malis, Chairman and President of the IP/MPLS Forum. “The Mobile Backhaul Certification Program represents a needed step in the evolution of MPLS solutions which have already proven in lab trials to be ready to meet the needs of operators around the world.”

The certification program is backed by the numerous mobile operators who have been heavily involved in the forum in defining the MMBI offerings, and are now also involved in the certification pilot as well.

“The IP/MPLS Forum Certification program will provide assurance that technologies meet industry specifications through an independent testing service. Certification demonstrates that businesses are forming the correct partnerships to deliver an industry-accepted service,” said Christopher Mayer, Vice President - Systems Integration & Testing at Verizon Communications.

“The increase of mobile data traffic is putting a lot of challenges on mobile backhaul to provide the required capacity in a cost-effective way. We see MPLS as a viable option for meeting this challenge, and believe this certification program will advance the deployment of MPLS-based backhaul solutions in the market,” said Alain Maloberti, VP, Network Architecture & Design for Orange.

The pilot phase of the certification program will conclude in early March, and the forum will announce the first group of certified vendors at the MPLS Ethernet World Congress that will be held in Paris, France, 10-13 February 2009.

About the IP/MPLS Forum

The IP/MPLS Forum is an international, non-profit association of service providers, equipment vendors, testing centers and enterprise users. The Forum’s mission is to drive the global success of IP/MPLS-based technology, networks, and services, while focusing on application and deployment solutions. The Forum is driving network solutions based on IP/MPLS technologies in the global telecom industry through technical specifications, educational and marketing resources, and certification and interoperability programs. For Forum membership information please contact Alysia Johnson, Executive Director, at (510) 492-4057 or via e-mail at ajohnson@ipmplsforum.org. Additional information about IP/MPLS Forum is available online at http://www.ipmplsforum.org.

Additional Background:

Mobile backhaul networks have historically utilized TDM or ATM-based backhaul facilities to support revenue-generating and mission-critical services which are delay- and loss-sensitive and require a high level of network availability. Today’s Mobile Backhaul networks must support these legacy services while also supporting the high-growth in demand for data services and bandwidth by today’s mobile subscribers.

In order to meet these evolutionary requirements of operators, the IP/MPLS Forum’s MPLS Mobile Backhaul Initiative (MMBI), which was announced last year, proposes a general framework for the use of MPLS and Ethernet technology to transport RAN backhaul traffic over access, aggregation and core networks. The forum released a technical specification during 4Q08 which provides a specific framework and set of requirements for the use of MPLS in the mobile wireless access and aggregation networks across various RAN interfaces and technologies (eg: GSM, UMTS, LTE, mobile WiMAX, HSPA, etc.)

A copy of the technical specification can be downloaded from http://www.ipmplsforum.org/tech/IPMPLSForum20.0.0.pdf. Additional information on the forum’s MMBI work can be found here: http://www.ipmplsforum.org/tech/IPMPLSBackhaulWhitePaper.pdf more

WeFi Launches Comprehensive Directory of Wi-Fi Hotspots

WeFi Launches Comprehensive Directory of Wi-Fi Hotspots

Directory Includes over One-Million Mapped Wi-Fi Hotspots Across The World

Delaware, USA, January 20, 2009: WeFi Inc., creator of the first open, community-based global Wi-Fi network, announced today the launch of a free, comprehensive online directory of Wi-Fi hotspots. The one-of-a-kind directory, available at the WeFi website (www.wefi.com) or in the United States by dialing 4WEFI on a mobile phone, allows people to locate the closest Wi-Fi connection to them and includes over one million mapped Wi-Fi hotspots - with the exact address and location details listed. The directory features known hotspots around the world, with the largest concentration of access points in major American cities including Chicago, New York City, San Francisco, Dallas and Houston. Additional hotspots are continually added by the WeFi community of users.

Users can either locate nearby access points via the WeFi website, or, alternatively, U.S. mobile phone users can send an SMS with their current location to 4WEFI (49334) and will receive a listing of the nearest Wi-Fi access points sent to their mobile phone within minutes.

WeFi’s hotspot directory aggregates all known Wi-Fi hotspots, and is not limited to those mapped out by individual businesses or service providers. It is user-generated – users can add a newly recognized hotspot to the directory by downloading the free software from the WeFi website, and either manually typing in the details of the site’s location, or if their computer or mobile phone has a GPS device installed, a new hotspot can be located automatically. The more hotspots added, the larger the overall universal Wi-Fi network becomes.

WeFi helps people find free Wi-Fi communication around the world with easy-to-use downloadable software that enables automatic connection to the fastest Wi-Fi hotspot around. As a leading social networking tool, users can locate their friends on the WeFi map of Wi-Fi access points – in real-time, anywhere and everywhere around the world through their Wi-Fi connection. Existing WeFi laptop users are equipped with instant messaging tools and additional community features, to help them communicate with their friends.

“WeFi is constantly looking for new ways to increase Wi-Fi availability for everyone,” said Zur Feldman, CEO of WeFi. “Using our new hotspot directory, people can easily find a connection, wherever they are or want to go. The current launch is yet more proof that WeFi is at the forefront of bringing Wi-Fi connectivity to anyone, anywhere, and anytime. ”

WeFi will be exhibiting at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2009 in February in Barcelona. The company will be located at the IMA Pavilion, Hall 4, Level 1. Please contact Jason Silberman at Jason_s@koteret.com to schedule a meeting.
